Dish Network Bargaining Report #1

This year, 2014, has been an eventful year so far for the technicians and warehouse group in Farmers Branch, Texas.  May of this year the technicians of Farmers Branch fought off a Decertification Election by voting to remain UNION and continue to have the Communications Workers of America represent them. On July 23rd and 24th your CWA Bargaining Committee consisting of Sylvia J. Ramos, Assistant to the Vice President of District 6, Tony Shaffer, CWA Representative, Ken Conner, Executive Vice President of Local 6171, Jason Morris, Technician at the Farmers Branch location and Matt Holder, CWA Attorney, met with the Company’s attorney and a Human Resource Representative from Dish to continue bargaining for the North Richland Hills and Farmers Branch units in the pursuit of a fair and just first contract. During the two days of meetings, your Bargaining Committee gathered information pertinent to making the best proposals possible to get the best contract for Dish Employees. We requested additional information from the Company so that we accurately understand how the business has changed since we first began bargaining.  No proposals were exchanged during this round of bargaining.  We tentatively scheduled another session of bargaining for late September.  We ask that you get involved, stay united, and tell Dish you deserve a contract.
