Avaya Bargaining Report #8

Brothers and Sisters,

We hope this report finds you in good health and spirits. As your dedicated Union Bargaining Committee, we are honored to provide you with an important update on the ongoing negotiations for a successor agreement at Avaya.

Extension: Due to the safety concerns posed by Tropical Storm Ophelia and the impending inclement weather in Durham, North Carolina, CWA and Avaya LLC have agreed to an extension of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) through October 24, 2023. During the extension period, all terms of the current contract remain in effect.

Negotiations: As we continue our relentless pursuit of a fair contract, we want to be upfront with you: not much has changed since our last bargaining report. Both sides remain firmly entrenched in their current positions. But hear this loud and clear: our bargaining team will not waiver, will not compromise and will not accept anything less than a fair contract. WE WILL NOT BACK DOWN!!

Bargaining Reports: We understand the importance of keeping you informed throughout this process. Regular updates will be shared through official communication channels, including e-mails, newsletters and the website (cwa-union.org). Your involvement in union activities and unwavering support for the bargaining committee is paramount. Your unity reinforces our strength at the negotiation table. Please remain engaged and stay united.

WEAR THOSE RED SHIRTS!! Our solidarity is our greatest asset and it is crucial that we show it not only in words but in actions. Wear your red shirts, display your solidarity and let Avaya know that we are a force to be reckoned with. Together we send a powerful message that we stand united and resolute in our quest for a fair contract.

In Solidarity,

Brian Sawyer, Staff Representative

Sandra Strain, CWA Local 6016

Richard Chittenden, CWA Local 6215
