2020 AT&T Purple Mobility Other Major Gains TA Highlights
We got a bunch of other wins in the new tentative agreement that we didn’t have time to highlight this week. Some of them include limits to monitoring, new MI60 language, State of Emergency consideration for tardiness or absence and others. Here are some of the highlights in the TA:
Previously, there were no monitoring limits. This TA limits the number of evaluative observations in a month to 8 per month for call center workers and 6 per month for retail store workers.
We negotiated a MI60 Letter that ensures it remains voluntary, assignments will be rotated no less than every six (6) months and reaffirms that members serving in this role are not to be involved in observing, coaching or disciplining of any member.
Previously, state of emergencies were only taken into consideration for tardiness and absence discipline for the state in which you work. We were able to expand the language to include the Company will consider information provided by the employee regarding the State of Emergency which could include living in a neighboring state that may or may not be under a State of Emergency.
Previously, new hires would be slotted in schedules regardless of the seniority of existing employees. In this TA we negotiated a mini-shift bid in order to protect seniority and scheduling, where new hires will be slotted after existing members have had an opportunity to bid on the open slots based on seniority order.
We negotiated the company must provide technicians (if required) 1 pair of climbing boots and 1 pair of safety glasses each calendar year.
Myself and the bargaining team are confident that these gains and the rest of the TA provisions are the best we could negotiate.
Again, for a more detailed look the additional gains we negotiated check out our TA Explainer.
