CWA District 6/YP Holdings Bargaining Report #14
The Union Bargaining Committee met Saturday and Sunday to continue analyzing the data regarding the company’s “total sales restructure which includes a new compensation plan and new sales job titles”!!! The company has repeatedly stated that their proposals are needed and necessary in order to give the company the “flexibility” and “CONsistency” across all of the CWA Districts to make all of the needed changes as they see fit. The Go To Market (GTM) plan has been implemented in District 1 and District 3. Roll-out was started in District 3 but has since been paused. To date, implementation of GTM has not started in District 4. As many of you heard on the YP Webcast of November 15, 2016, CEO Jared Rowe stated the company has paused GTM to do a “deep dive and evaluate the data.” This is exactly what your Bargaining Committee has been doing (a deep dive into the data) since the negotiations began.
The company also wants to change long-standing negotiated language such as; eliminate termination pay for poor sales performance; layoffs without regard to seniority; reduction of sick days to 10 per year; and the elimination of Designated Holidays. This is just to mention a few of the retrogressive proposals your Committee has been fighting since these negotiations began.
We are scheduled to meet again on Monday, December 12, 2016.
The company has extended our existing contract until Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at 5:00 pm.
WEAR RED ON TUESDAY, DECEMBER 13, 2016………………………………..
In Solidarity,
Your CWA Bargaining Committee
