Consolidated Communications of Fort Bend Company, (Katy, Texas Operations) Bargaining Report # 6

Wednesday, April 12, 2017 – 11:42 p.m.

Your CWA Bargaining Committee met with the Company today. Wages and healthcare are at the forefront of discussions all day today. Also discussions were in reference to the on-call process and the Performance Bonus. The discussions are still too far apart on these issues. The Union is requesting the Company meet us at a point in negotiations that would give our hard working members a fair and equitable contract. The Union was working on a package Wednesday afternoon to present to the Company on Thursday. Negotiations ended this afternoon and will continue tomorrow, Thursday, April 13, 2017 in Conroe, TX.

On Wednesday evening, your Union Bargaining Committee hosted a meeting in Katy. The purpose of the meeting was to provide members with an updated status report on the current state of negotiations. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Local conducted a Strike Authorization Vote which, if passed, would give the CWA National Executive Board the authorization to call a STRIKE. The majority of the membership was in attendance and the members overwhelmingly voted “YES” on the strike authorization Vote.

Your Bargaining Committee appreciates the OVERWHELMING support of the membership as was clearly displayed with both the turnout at the meeting and the nearly unanimous vote of the membership to give the National Executive Board the right to call a STRIKE if the Committee ultimately believes such action becomes necessary.

United We Bargain….Divided We Beg!!!!!

Thank you members for Remaining United
