Windstream Bargaining Report #7
Meetings resumed early today. Both Committees have had a lot to think about and review over the weekend. The Company and Union have several tentative agreements and several proposal withdrawals from both sides of the table. We have made minimal head way today. We did put a medical and wage proposal across to the Company today. We are currently still trying to get an informational request from the Company. This committee is being very tedious in reading and understanding every word that is being changed in all proposals. This takes a lot of time and discussion among the Bargaining Committee. There have been 21 proposals passed on both sides of the table, totaling 42 different proposals to read and understand. Also there have been 5 packages put on the table to group several proposals into one agreement. The goal of this committee is in line with the responses from the members on the surveys. We look at the survey daily and keep your voice and opinion in mind as we review these proposals. We have A LOT of work to be done. We are hopeful to reach a contract by midnight Friday but the Company is going to have to remove these retrogressive proposals that are on the table. Remember to continue to show your support by wearing red on Thursday and black on Friday. Tell your boss that you want a fair contract. We will continue to keep you updated as we move through these negotiations. Keep an eye out for “ANY ACTIVITIY” asked of you!!
