Windstream Bargaining Report #9
Sisters and Brothers,
Your CWA 6171 Bargaining Committee is pleased to announce we have reached a Tentative Agreement with Windstream. We appreciate everyone supporting the committee during these long days of negotiations. We were up against a tall task, with Windstream in bankruptcy, to balance getting a fair and just agreement and recognizing where the company finances and stock prices are currently. The company made mention of their financial situation several times and backed it up with retrogressive proposals. We addressed what your surveys asked us to; job security, healthcare, and wages to name the top three. We will have the contract explanation call next Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at 6:30 pm (CST) and the agreement highlights will be posted next week and sent with your ballot. The Bargaining Committee feels this is, keeping in mind the current situation of the company, a good agreement the committee unanimously recommends this Tentative Agreement for ratification.
