BARGAINING REPORT #4

Bargaining committee representatives of KCUR 89.3 and Classical KC 91.9 FM, alongside leaders of CWA Local 6360 and CWA representative Gerald Murray, reconvened with the University of Missouri – Kansas City for their fourth bargaining session on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

Happy New year!

This was our first meeting since November, as the University canceled what was set to be our fourth bargaining session on November 5. We asked for an update on our new location – no University representative had an update at this time. We heard the University’s counters to nearly fifteen proposals, which we had been expecting for some time. Many of these were standard union proposals.

Some of the proposals included:
● Union activities
● Seniority
● Union recognition
● Meet and confer representatives and discussions
● Arbitration
● Successorship
● University Business
● Parking
● Safety
● Grievances

Following thorough discussions, we anticipate continuing to negotiate these proposals, and could come to tentative agreement soon on some. We will introduce more proposals in the coming days. We are scheduled to meet again on January 26, 2026.
