Verizon SW Bargaining Report #1

On July 11, 2012, Local 6171 Bargaining Committee met with Verizon Southwest Bargaining Committee to commence negotiations on a new contract.

Assistant to the District 6 Vice President, Sylvia Ramos, was in attendance to give the opening statement on behalf of the District 6 Vice President Claude Cummings. Committee Chair, District 6 Staff Representative, Guy Stewart, gave an opening statement. Rick Carpenter, Committee Chair for the Company gave his opening statement.

Your bargaining committee passed several proposals across the table to the company. The Company did not pass any Company proposals.

It is critical for you, the member, to understand that we will not be able to post specific information on any proposals. These can change several times a day and we do not want to mislead anyone in any way. However, we will be having a Town Hall Call set up in the near future.
