Verizon Southwest Bargaining Report #54

Today, Saturday, September 22, 2012, your CWA Bargaining Committee met with Verizon and passed a revised proposal for improvements in the VEBA.  Next, we rejected the following retrogressive company proposals: Retire Life Insurance, Pensions, Short-Term Disability and Group Insurance and Medical for Buried Service Wire. Afterwards, we held a lengthy discussion about Verizon Business Transition Request. Finally the parties agreed to recess and meet later.
 
Again, we are asking Verizon “Where’s The Fairness.”  Verizon must recognize our value and provide us with a contract that protects our standard of living.
