Verizon Southwest Bargaining Report #25

Brothers and Sisters, we appreciate the support we have received during the past month. To see everyone out at Hidden Ridge tonight for the candlelight vigil was great. Vice President of District 6, Claude Cummings and Assistant to the Vice President Sylvia Ramos were also in attendance. Union attorney David Van Os also traveled in to be of assistance in hopes of getting a contract by midnight.

We were unable to come to an agreement with the Company by expiration. Your committee will not agree to these major concessions the company is putting before us. Your Committee was able to agree to a two week extension. An extension means that everything remains the same. The articles in the contract and all benefits remain in effect. Your Committee remains committed to getting back to the table with the company in hopes of reaching an agreement before August 25, 2012. Remember to wear Red on Thursdays and Black on Fridays.
