Verizon Select Services Final Bargaining Report
CWA Local 6132, Local 6300, and Local 1122 are in the process of making arrangements to hold explanation meetings with the membership. Your Bargaining Team urges all members to participate in the explanation meetings. In addition, your CWA Bargaining Team unanimously recommends ratification. The CWA Team thanks every member in every local for all of your support and solidarity during negotiations. The highlights of the Settlement Agreement are listed below:
-The legal entity name changed from Verizon Select Services to Verizon Enterprise Delivery throughout the agreement. The duration will be 3 years with a 2.75% base wage increase in each year of the contract.
-Renewed existing MOA's with new effective dates. Improvements to the Long Term Disability MOA increasing the number of monthly benefits paid from 12 to 18. Improvements to the MOA on the Pension Plan, which includes increases to the annual minimums effective July 1, 2011.
-New MOA’s on an improved Vision Plan that includes discounts on laser eye surgery as well as one pair of prescription eye glasses or contacts every 12 months and a new MOA on Voluntary Termination Bonus of $10,000 for employees who make a voluntary election to leave the service of the Company pursuant to an ISP offer. Modification of the VEBA for new hires, hired on or after September 26, 2010, which provides for coverage and an annual benefit of $345 for each year of Accredited Service completed.
-Renewed Letters of Agreement on GTE/Contel Pensions, Prevailing Wages, and Union Recognition. A new LOA on a Common Interest Forum Trial that will allow for continued discussions on items such as but not limited to workplace issues, training, and job security.
-No premiums and no changes to the medical plan.
-No changes to the Dental Plan. Improvements in the Company contribution for employee plus one and family from 75% to 80% of the premiums.
