Verizon Southwest Bargaining Report #24
Brothers and Sisters, as this report is being written, we are 28 hours away from expiration. As you all have seen on the website, the Company’s main proposals are not in the best interest of the members of this Local. None of us are fortunate enough to have made $25 million in salary and bonuses like our beloved CEO Lowell McAdams, where paying high premiums every month for health care wouldn’t be an issue and you wouldn't you need your pension if your bank account had seven figures to the left of decimal? These are things this Company believes a middle class family can sustain. The Brothers and Sisters before us worked too damn hard for over 40 years to let VERIGREEDY strip it all away.
Your Committee met with the Company this afternoon again to, try to close the gap and get to an agreement by midnight tomorrow. We are going to work late into the evening to work on the best proposals possible.
Remember to get out to tomorrows mobilization. Let’s show this Company that we will not go back 40 years as the profits increase year after year.
