Grand River Mutual Telephone Company Bargaining Report #1
The Union and Company kicked off bargaining on Thursday, March 1, 2012, in Princeton, Missouri. The Company made their opening statement and referenced access line losses, an uncertain future and the need to work together. The Union opening remarks centered on job security, health care, a fair wage increase and our commitment to work together. We reminded the Company that we are not looking to bankrupt the Company, we just want our fair share!
The Union gave the Company 17 proposals and the Company gave the Union 13 proposals. The meeting adjourned so the parties could review the proposals.
The Union and Company met again on Friday, March 2, 2012, with further discussion regarding the proposals. The Union gave the Company 4 more proposals and the Company gave the Union 1 combined proposal. The parties are reviewing the proposals and will meet again on Monday, March 12, 2012.
In Solidarity,
Your Bargaining Committee.
