Frontier Bargaining Report #28

8/25/2022

Sisters and Brothers,

Today was not an easy day for your committee to remain focused due to the fatality of a technician in a horrific on-the-job accident yesterday afternoon. Not only was he a Union Brother, but he was also a husband and a father of three small children. One of your committee members was a coworker and close friend of the tech.  Somber feelings have surrounded us for the past 24 hours. We cannot stress the importance of making sure you have all the necessary PPE, that it in date and working order. We understand that the company has reduced the workforce and increased the workload causing all of you to work 6 days and long hours in them. Take the time to do YOUR job safely. Not for the company, not for the customer, but for yourself and your family. Your coworkers are your FAMILY too.

As hard as it was to work, we remained productive with a counter to the company's healthcare proposal. We also reviewed some answers the company has provided us. The chair of your committee met with one of the District's attorneys on some legal questions over a couple of benefits. We are set to meet with the company first thing in the morning to pass some counter-proposal(s) and have dialogue on other issues still outstanding.

Please participate in the mobilization activities that are provided. It really makes a difference when we are united and working together. This company does not respect you or care about you or your family. They only care about the hedge funds holding the stock of Frontier. The customers are a distant second. You and your family are dead last to them. Only you can take care of your family by fighting for a fair contract, otherwise, we will always get the scraps the CEO leaves for us on the floor after he and his family have eaten until they are full.

Please send some prayers to the family of the fallen brother and hug your family extra tight tonight as tomorrow is not given.

Stay strong and tell the company you want to live comfortably with wages and benefits,

Your Bargaining Committee
