Frontier Bargaining Report #26

8/23/22

Sisters and Brothers,

This is just an example of some of the things the Bargaining Committee is fighting against to try and get your fair contract.  This document was sent out by Frontier boasting about their accomplishments all while trying to deprive their employees of affordable healthcare, livable wages and retiree benefits.

Take a look at some of the “highlights” that Frontier is proud of:

· Frontier wiped out $10 BILLION in debt through bankruptcy

· CWA stepped in to make sure Frontier invested in the fiber network, in addition to workforce protections in California and Connecticut. Frontier continues to violate these stipulations concerning the workforce protections.  https://www.dailynews.com/2022/08/19/frontier-communications-workers-strike-over-subcontracting/

· Frontier boasts that 2/3 of its footprint will be fiber fed by the end of 2025.  Instead of using Frontier employees the company is using contractors that are providing substandard work by bypassing safety standards. https://www.journalinquirer.com/connecticut_and_region/reckless-and-inappropriate-pura-slams-frontier-with-5m-fine-over-improper-fiber-optic-cable-installation/article_4a04e438-0f5a-11ed-8a9d-57e541dce156.html#:~:text=The%20Public%20Utilities%20Regulatory%20Authority%20has%20fined%20Stamford-based,optic%20cable%20in%20its%20towns%2C%20including%20in%20Enfield

· Per the company, consumer broadband growth has increased by 40k customers over the past year with projected profits of $2.05B yet has reduced the workforce by 1,346 jobs.

·  During bargaining the company has proposed significant reductions in benefits while increasing the deductibles and out of pocket maximums for the employees while providing senior executives with disproportionate compensation packages.
