Frontier Bargaining Report #120

2/14/2023

Sisters and Brothers,

Your bargaining committee met with the company this morning. We discussed the ludicrous email you all received from Alan Gardner. Although the company chair was indignant and had very little to say about it, your chair remained civil and in a spirit of good faith bargaining, we were able to address and TA two of the proposals from the company's package they presented last week.

We will continue to address all the remaining proposals with diligence as always.

Here is a true comparison between California's agreement and what Alan Gardner said of Texas being offered 9%. All that comes to mind with what Gardner said is "WTF"? Where's The Fairness?

California D9 Website:

General Wage Increases (GWI): General Wage Increases shown below apply to all employees in the CWA California Frontier Core and CWA California Frontier Supply Chain Services bargaining units. Retroactive pay increases will cover from the Contract Expiration to the Ratification of the new contract.

GWI Effective March 3, 2021 2.0% Texas has already received a full 2% increase in August of 2021 which would make our first raise from negotiations due in August of 2022. Therefore this line is a wash.

GWI Effective March 6, 2022 1.5%

GWI Effective September 4, 2022 1.5%

GWI Effective March 5, 2023 1.5%

GWI Effective September 3, 2023 1.5%

 GWI Effective March 3, 2024 2.0%

GWI Effective September 1, 2024 2.0%

GWI Effective March 2, 2025 1.5%

The Compounded GWI is 14.3% over 4 years

If you take the remaining wage increases for 2022 through 2025 (we will expire a month apart), California will get 11.5% over 3 years. We hope this puts things in perspective.

FYI: Florida's contract expires on July 22, 2023. This may be the reason for the sense of urgency the company has.

In Unity,
Your CWA Bargaining Committee
