FairPoint Final Bargaining Report
The Union and the Company met Tuesday, July 7, Wednesday, July 8, and Thursday, July 9, 2015, to negotiate a new contract. We are pleased to announce that we reached a tentative agreement this morning on a new four (4) year contract. The highlights are as follows: Section 9Layoff and Recall, add “2 years” to existing language. Section 26Vacations, add “Federal or State Regulations” to existing language. Section 30Customer Experience Metrics, Delete language. Section 39Entry Wage, See Section 40. Section 40Wages, Establish a new wage scale and wage increases that total 12.42% overall for the life of the agreement.
