DirecTV Tentative Ratification Summary
After weeks of intense negotiations, Communications Workers of America District 6 is announcing a tentative agreement has been reached with AT&T for the former DIRECTV workers. The agreement includes the Administrative Support Assistants, Installers, Installation Technicians, Office Coordinators and Warehouse Assistants. The Communications Workers District 6 Bargaining Committee unanimously recommends ratification of this agreement. The details of this agreement are listed below.
Wages:
As soon as practicable after ratification, Employees will be placed into the following wage schedules:

Title Weekly Wage Rate
Premise Technician $939.00
Warehouse Assistant $692.50
Administrative Support Assistant $586.50
Office Coordinator $692.50
All employees will transition to the step of the corresponding wage schedule that is closest to but not less than their current weekly wage rate. Those employees not at the top weekly rate will be placed into wage progression and will receive an increase in pay every six months until they reach the top weekly wage rate.
This will result in significant wage increases for employees in wage progression.
Those employees above the top weekly wage rate will be pay protected for the life of this agreement.
Contract Ratification Bonus:
Active regular full time Employees on the payroll as of the date of ratification and on the payout date will receive a $250 lump sum ratification bonus. Each Active regular part-time Employee on the payroll as of the date of ratification and on the payout date will receive a prorated ratification bonus. Such payments shall be made as soon as practicable following ratification.
Sunday Premium Pay:
Employees who work on Sunday shall receive the rate of one and one-half the Employees base wages, up to a maximum of eight hours per day.
Holiday Premium Pay:
Employees who work on a holiday will be paid eight hours at straight time for the holiday and at time and one half for each hour worked on the holiday.

Effective Date:
Unless otherwise specified, December 25, 2016 will be the Effective Date for placing employees into Appendix J in the 2013 Labor Agreements negotiated between the Communications Workers of America and AT&T Southwest.
Employment Credited Time:
Employees current DTV time-in-title and location will be credited toward their new Appendix J title.
Testing Qualification:
Employees shall be exempt from the test qualifications required for their new job title for purposes of placement into such title.
Employees who transition to the Premises Technician title may be sent to pole climbing training. Employees who are unable to pass pole climbing training will be allowed to remain as Premises Technicians. Premise Technicians who are unable to pass pole climbing training that voluntarily transfer to another location or title that requires pole climbing will be required to pass pole climbing training to remain at the new location or position.
Sick Days:
Up to 5 Paid Sick Days for employees with 1 year or more of service.
Work Apparel:
Access to the Company Branded Apparel Program
Vacations:
Vacation time will transition from the current Paid Time Off accrual method, to Employees who have completed more than 6 months employment being granted vacation time based on length of service with the Company. Vacation will be granted as follows:
- 1 week of vacation upon completion of 6 months service
- 2 weeks of vacation upon completion of 12 months service
- 3 weeks of vacation upon completion of 7 years of service
- 4 weeks of vacation upon completion of 15 years of service
- 5 weeks of vacation upon completion of 25 years of service
Staffing Levels:
The staffing levels for the Administrative Support Assistant, Office Coordinator and Warehouse Assistant titles will not exceed the number of Employees in each of titles as of the date of ratification.
Home Garaging:
All Employees moving into the Premise Technician title will be allowed to continue to participate in the DTV Home Garaging program until August 1, 2017.
National Transfer Plan:
On the Effective Date, DTV will be a participating company in the National Transfer Plan (NTP) in agreements where DTV has been added as a participating company.
PTO Time:
All Employees that have not used Paid Time Off by December 31, 2016 will be paid out in cash in 2017.
Grievance and Arbitration:
Effective with ratification, the Grievance and Arbitration process can be used to challenge contract violations and unjust discipline.
Overtime:
Mandatory Overtime shall be limited to 17 hours in a work week.
Benefit Summary
Disability Benefits:
On June 1, 2017, Employees will have a comprehensive disability plan.
401k Savings Plan:
On June 1, 2017, Employees will be eligible to contribute to the AT&T Savings Plan. The plan has an 80% Company match for up to a 6% contribution.
Pension Benefit Plan:
On June 1, 2017, Employees will be eligible for the BCB2 pension benefit plan.
Medical Health and Welfare Plan:
On January 1, 2017, Employees who have elected to do so will be enrolled in the Non-Bargained Company, Medical, Metallic Plan.
On June 1, 2017, Employees who have elected to do so will be eligible to enroll in the Union negotiated Medical Plan. The Union negotiated Medical Plan is a 90%/10% plan. This means that the Company pays 90% of costs and the Employee pays the remaining 10%.
The deductible and out-of-pocket dollars accumulated during 2017 for participants in the AT&T Medical Plan benefit option prior to the mid-year plan change will apply toward the out-of-pocket maximums for those participants that enroll under the bargained program, provide the employee and dependents remain in the Company’s self-funded benefits. If an employee changes their coverage option during the mid-year election period from self-funded to HMO or vice versa, the deductibles and out-of-pocket dollars accumulated prior to the change in options will not apply to the new coverage.
Monthly Contributions:
For all the DIRECTV Employees who have a Workday Continuous Service date from DIRECTV, who were hired before August 8, 2009 and up to and including December 31, 2014, these monthly contribution rates shall apply.
