2015 TSEU Lobby Day - APRIL 8
As most of you are probably already aware, the Texas Legislative Session is in full swing. This means that state lawmakers in Austin are making decisions on a whole range of critical issues that directly impact working and middle-class Texans across our state. Topics would include affordability of university education, unemployment, food stamp benefits, workers’ rights, and whether or not to expand Medicaid. These are all vital issues for every CWA member and the communities in which we live. For that reason, union members need to make their voices heard during this legislative session.
With that goal in mind, our sisters and brothers in CWA Local 6186, the Texas State Employees Union, are planning a massive rally and march on Wednesday, April 8 in Austin. TSEU’s Lobby Day will focus on pushing lawmakers to increase funding for all state services (social services, healthcare, education, public safety), and to provide a decent standard of living for the state employees who deliver those services every day.
