CWA Political Action Fund 2012 Fundraising Campaign

CWA Political Action Fund (formerly “COPE” now referred to as “PAC”) 2012 Fundraising Campaign begins today, May 1! 

Details of the contest and incentives are below.  I will be receiving campaign flyers and information on the flash drive pen incentives during the May 3 – 5 training at MITAGS and will provide updates, as well as information on webinars for Local Officers interested in running a local PAC campaign, upon my return from the training.

As mentioned at the District 6 Conference, this is an important campaign for our District as we strive to continue the momentum of our past years of success by signing up and turning in the highest number of cards out of all CWA Districts.  

LET’S MAKE 2012 OUR BANNER YEAR!

Campaign Dates: May 1-Nov 1, 2012 (cards must be postmarked no later than Nov 1)

CWA Goal: Sign up a total of 5,000 new contributors or current contributors who increase by $1.

Member Incentives:

v  New contributor who gives $2 a week/$8 a month receives a flash pen (when sign card) and gets put into drawing for trip for two to Las Vegas .

v  New contributor who signs up for $1 a week/$4 a month receives tumbler in the mail and gets put into drawing for trip for two to Las Vegas

v  Current contributor who increases by $1 receives flash pen (when sign card) and gets put into drawing for trip for two to Las Vegas.

Lost Time Activists:

v  All lost time activists working on election will be responsible for raising Political Action Fund contributions.  Activists will be expected to get at least 5 cards a week or 20 a month.  These can be increases or new contributors.

Incentives for Local Activists Collecting PAC Cards:

v  Local activists who will be collecting PAC cards during the campaign need to  sign up and get contest information and flash pens.

v  The local activist who turns in the most PAC cards in each District and IUE-CWA Division will receive a CWA watch.

v  Each local activist who is collecting PAC cards for his/her Local will get one raffle ticket for every new or increased PAC card turned in for two round trip tickets anywhere in the continental U.S. (one trip for two).

Flash Drive Pens

Local activists who sign up to collect PAC cards in his/her Local will be given a supply of flash drive pens which they can give members on the spot when they increase their contribution by $1 or sign up a new contributor for $2 a week.  Local activists will be asked to sign for a quantity of the pens and provide a commitment to return those not used.
