The Union (CWA) and City kicked off bargaining on May 23, 2023, on a new Work Agreement. The City passed their initial proposal package which included Articles 16 Hours of Work and Scheduling, Article 17 Wages and Differentials, Article 18 Overtime Pay and Compensatory, Article 19 Absences from Duty, Article 20 Vacations, Article 21 Holidays, Article 26 Retirement System, and Article 29 Miscellaneous Provisions. No agreements were reached.

The Union and City met June 5, 2023, to discuss the City proposed MOU regarding a New Hire Incentive. The Union presented UP1, Article 17 Wages and Differentials, Retention Bonus for current bargaining unit members. The Union also presented the following proposals; UP2, Article 19, Absences from Duty (Sick Leave), UP3, Article 20 Vacations, UP4, Article 21 Holidays, UP5 Article 27, Uniform Benefits, UP6, Article 29, Miscellaneous Provisions. 

The Union and City TA’d the following proposals: Article 19 Absences from Duty, Article 20 Vacations, Article 27 Uniform Benefits, and UP1 Retention Bonus.

The parties are meeting today, June 12, 2023.

The current Work Agreement expires on June 30, 2023.
