CWA/Apple Retail Bargaining Report #7 Penn Square Location, Oklahoma City, OK

Today the CWA Bargaining team continued negotiations with the Apple Bargaining team in Oklahoma City, OK.

The morning started with Union Chair Billy Moffett voicing his concern about the Company conducting an all store meeting with store employees to present a scheduling system telling the employees they were not eligible for this because of the “unique situation” they’re in.  Truth is, this was presented to us on our last day of bargaining as a proposal in July and we did a massive request for more info in which the Company claims they don’t understand what we are asking for. What they did send was a document of over 6000 pages that made absolutely no sense! We as a Union Bargaining team are taking this scheduling proposal very seriously, however we will not agree to anything that will potentially hurt our members. We are continuing to break down the proposal and the Company has asked to have a discussion on what exactly we are trying to look at so they can provide it. More to come on tomorrow’s report.

We did tentatively agree on language regarding breaks and lunches; however this wasn’t a huge win, it just protects your current process so they can’t change it.

We passed a couple counters of Union proposals; one on Company handling dues deduction, and one on language preventing the Company from ever doing a lockout.

Tomorrow we will start the morning with a presentation from the Company on Attendance in the store. The afternoon will be mostly consumed with the scheduling proposal.
