CWA/Apple Retail Bargaining Report #24 Penn Square Location, Oklahoma City, OK

The CWA/Apple Bargaining team met today in day two of our two day session for May. The good news is the tone seemed to have shifted a bit and it was more of a productive session. We were all to come to a T/A that will protect all Erisa wrap welfare plan benefits during the full term of the agreement. This now included the HSA flexible spending accounts which the Company had removed on their initial counter proposal. Additionally, there are some positive changes coming that we agreed not to discuss until it's released around mental health. We believe those who use these benefits will agree once the info is released, and reached an agreement on a memorandum of understanding that these changes will apply to all Penn Square workers as soon as it changes on day 1. Additionally, we made a strong case for a weekend differential and bilingual pay. On the weekend differential, we made the case this will naturally have more people wanting to work weekends to make the extra money. In turn, it will help with attendance and also open up more off time of the weekend for those who want off. We also explained that bilingual pay is something that has been brought up a lot and if an employee has and uses this skill set, they should be compensated appropriately. 

In closing, we are moving closer to having just vacation time, scheduling, and wages left on the table. We are very far apart and due hope Apple Management will come to the next session willing to bargain in good faith in what we have passed across the table.

Our next session will be on Monday, June 17 and Tuesday, June 18, 2024 in OKC. Keep up the mobilization as we get closer to the finish line!
