CWA/Apple Retail Bargaining Report #1 Penn Square Location, Oklahoma City, OK
Sisters & Brothers,
Today the CWA Bargaining team opened contract negotiations with Apple Incorporated in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. We were able to present seventeen (17) proposals which will address many concerns and issues we have heard from the bargaining unit employees. Some of the proposals presented today included seniority, recognition as a Union workforce, grievance procedure with arbitration, protections in the event of a surplus, and language on any job vacancies or openings.
The Company was very engaged in our presentation of each proposal, asked a lot of questions, and we had some very positive discussions between both parties. They did seem like they were taking the bargaining process seriously and as a team, we believe it was a very productive first day!
We are scheduled to meet tomorrow morning starting at 9am for our second day of this session and have an additional eleven (11) proposals to present. We will follow up tomorrow evening with a bargaining report as well.
In closing, we want to THANK all the members who were able to make it downtown this morning to see the team off to the bargaining table! That energy was what we needed this morning!
In Unity & Solidarity,
