CWA Local 6218/Consolidated Communications Katy, TX Bargaining Report # 8
CWA District 6 & Local 6218 continued bargaining virtually today with Consolidated. After a long day of bargaining, we are happy to report we have reached a tentative agreement with Consolidated Communications in Katy, TX.
Some of the highlights of this agreement are as follows:
- 2.5% wage increase to all titles on Year 1
- 2.25% wage increase to all titles on Year 2
- 2.0% wage increase to all job titles on Year 3
- An additional Personal Holiday (going from 5 to 6)
- Continuation of the Company’s Annual Performance Bonus
- Boot allowance of $175 once over life of contract to any title that requires to wear safety footwear
- Fixed Health Insurance to fully be under Company Plan which will lower cost share percentages for PPO participants, and maintain HDP percentages
- New job title to handle just Broadband Installations (which is currently being handled by 80% contractors)
In addition, we are happy to report we were able to fight off retrogressive demands on the amount of hours of overtime to trigger double pay, a reduction in what the Company pays for Workman’s Comp if injured on the job, and an attempt to lower standby pay!
The Committee fully recommends ratification and the Local will be in touch with Members shortly on the ratification process.
