Consolidated (Lufkin/Conroe) Bargaining Report #20

After reviewing the Company’s 02/07/17 package proposal, your CWA Bargaining Committee notified the Company and requested additional dates to meet.  At 8:26 p.m. on 02/22/17, the Company responded by saying they were available to meet every business day through 02/28/17.  The next day, the Union notified the Company of our acceptance of meeting dates beginning at 1:00 pm today (02/27/17) and all day tomorrow (02/28/17).  The Company then arbitrarily changed their minds and said they would return to the table at 2 p.m. on 02/28/17. 

The Union took exception to this and notified the Company that we would be prepared to resume negotiations this afternoon as planned.  While your CWA Bargaining Committee was enroute to the Company location for our 1:00 p.m. meeting, the Company notified us via email that they would not be attending and, instead, would meet with the Union at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow. 

All this is further indication of the lack of respect your employer has for its employees.  The Company’s ultimatums also provide further proof that they have no interest in reaching a fair and equitable contract.

Additional updates will be forthcoming after tomorrow’s bargaining session, assuming of course, that the Company shows up.
