Consolidated Communications of Texas Company Bargaining Report #17
The Union and Consolidated Communications of Texas (Lufkin/Conroe) continued negotiations Tuesday, November 12, 2019. The Union Bargaining Committee handed the Company a comprehensive counter package in response to their comprehensive package.
After much discussion on the Union’s counter package, the Company stated that they needed time to review the counter package. Late in the evening the Company advised your Union Bargaining Committee that they needed until at least 10:00 am the next day, November 13, 2019, to respond to the Union’s counter.
We finally did meet on November 13, 2019 and the Company handed over a counter to the Union’s counter and after lengthy discussions, the Union asked for additional time to review the whole counter package. The Company then advised the Union that they were again leaving early Thursday morning.
Your Committee then informed the Company that we were not making any quick decisions and not giving back much of our strong language in our contract. We wanted to protect what we currently have in our CBA, affordable healthcare cost and a fair wage increase.
Since the Company was leaving out of state early the next day, it was decided that the Company would give us additional dates they are able to meet again at the bargaining table. We will post those dates as soon as we get them from the Company.
In Solidarity,
Your Bargaining Committee
