CenturyLink Central Arkansas Local 6171 Bargaining Report #14
The two committees met to discuss the proposals and the word for the day was REJECT! The Union tried to show some movement in order to get the Company to come off of the retrogressive language previously passed, but the Company’s chair stated that he understood our position, but never showed any inclination that there would be movement on their end.
The Union’s Committee passed language on the Seniority, Overtime Pay Treatment, and the Uniform proposals. The Company just stated that they understood and said that they would get back with us tomorrow morning to discuss them and see where we are.
The two committees will meet again November 11th, to further discuss these proposals. The Union’s Committee is committed to getting a fair and equitable contract, but not at the expense of our members. At this late stage, the company still has not proposed any new money into the contract and we would still be taking concessions that we could not afford to take.
Please remember to wear your Union Red on Thursday and Black out on Friday!! Stay United and Focused and let your supervisors know that this won’t be tolerated!!!
