Caney Valley Electric Ratification Vote

The members of Local 6410 ratified a new three year contract with Caney Valley Electric by an 8 to 1 margin. Details of the new agreement are as follows:

401k

  • The Company shall contribute to the plan the amount of nine percent (9%) of the employee's gross salary. In addition, employees may contribute to the plan and the Company will match the contribution up to three percent (3%) of the employee's gross salary.

Job Assignment

  • When an employee is loaned to work with Westar Electric Company they will be paid at the top rate of the equivalent job title of a Westar employee; not to exceed the maximum pay of an equivalent title with that electric company.    

Meter Reader

  • Negotiated a new title into the contract.

 

Protective Equipment

  • As pursuant to Rule 410A3 of the NESC and the Company’s arc flash study dated 04/22/2010, the Company will provide arc flash rated clothing to meet a minimum Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV) rating of 4 calories per CM2 (cubic meter squared). Initial clothing will be purchased by the Company with replacement done as per Company Policy #609 on a pro-rated basis with a yearly allowance per employee. As part of this yearly allowance, the Company will provide 100% cotton t-shirts that may be worn as an undergarment or when arc flash rating clothing is not required.*
