Fidium Bargaining Update #4 for Katy, Texas

Contract Ratified

Today, Fidium members from Katy, Texas voted to ratify their recently bargained contract. This will merge current employees from the Katy bargaining unit with fellow employees of the Lufkin/Conroe Collective Bargaining Agreement. This will not only align pay wages, but it will also eliminate two tier pay tables by no later than April of 2029 through six month wage increases. Same job and work equals same pay!

This could not have been achieved without the work of your bargaining team: our Second Chair at the bargaining table CWA Staff Rep. Tanya Holmes, whose outside the box thinking allowed us to save vacation time and create a unique wage schedule to help eliminate two tier wages, Jesse Benavidas, Steward of Local 6218, provided constant feedback from the field and expertise on the daily functions and job duties of our employees, Belinda Davis, President of Local 6218, with her leadership and expertise from the recently negotiated Lufkin/Conroe CBA, and Travis Phillips, VP of Local 6218, also for his expertise from the Lufkin/Conroe CBA and number crunching. All of you are greatly appreciated.

I would like to personally thank our clerical Cindy Maldonado and Sherry Stanley for keeping the updates posted daily and Nicole Tupa, our dues specialist, for her assistance on the membership movement report MOA. And finally, Assistant to the VP Billy Moffett, Administrative Director Jason Vellmer, and our District 6 VP Derrick Osobase Sr. for their leadership throughout this process.
