CWA/Apple Retail Bargaining Report #28 Penn Square Location, Oklahoma City, OK
The CWA/Apple Bargaining team met today with Apple in Oklahoma City. Today’s session again included a Federal Mediator from FMCS who joined us to help the two sides close the gap on our differences.
The Company began the day by delaying the start time. Before finally passing the Company proposal, they presented slides on Apple Health and Welfare benefits. The Company also passed a counter to the Basis of Compensation where they once again removed general wage increase and bilingual pay and instead stuck to wanting pay increases tied to performance.
After a small break, the Union passed a counter to the proposal for Health and Welfare with added language to the Company proposal. It was followed by passing a counter to the Basis of Compensation which reintroduced a general wage increase and bilingual pay. The Union bargaining team spoke passionately about the importance of keeping these two items on the proposal. The Union then proposed an amendment to the Apple Time Away benefits.
After lunch, the Company and Union were able to agree on a Preamble and Time Away Benefits. It was followed by the Company introducing counters to Health benefits and a Stock Program. Following another short break, both sides met again with the Company presenting another Basis of Compensation. The Union countered on Scheduling but agreed to an additional short break.
Late into the evening the Union countered on Stock program, basis of Compensation, Health benefits and also introduced a Union Orientation proposal before agreeing to meet again tomorrow.
The CWA/Apple bargaining team would like to thank all the different CWA locals and fellow Unions who participated in the Workers Rally yesterday, September 3rd.
