AT&T SW TA Featured Highlights - CONTRACT IMPROVEMENTS!

Today’s Focus is CONTRACT IMPROVEMENTS!

We fought hard and secured major gains. Several improvements were won in a single bargaining session and some do not even exist in other Union contracts!

  • Added MOA that makes 19 current Temporary Full Time (TFT’s) Cable Splicers Permanent & in addition creates 19 New Full Time Group 1 Craft Job Requisitions (38 permanent jobs created). Also if future TFT positions are created, they will open job reqs before hiring off the street.
  • Added Martin Luther King Day officially to the contract in all titles
  • Added language to improve scheduling carryover vacation and movement of such
  • Removed $3000 cap on incentive plans for business units to provide opportunities for more money into employees pockets
  • Improved Per Diem in Core Contract by $3 Added 3% to both Voluntary & Involuntary severance payments (Voluntary had not been increased in at least the past 30 years)

What do the next steps look like if we don't ratify this TA?

ANSWER: If the agreement is not ratified, basically everything that has been tentatively agreed upon is voided. At that point we are working without a contract and several things could happen which could include a work stoppage, Company locking us out, or best case scenario we continue under the terms of the 2021 extension and hope to achieve everything back we had previously TA’d, which the likelihood of that happening is not good as the Bargaining Team stood our ground and fought off several retrogressive demands that the Company was looking to do to the current language in the CBA. With that being said we achieved the biggest pay raises any AT&T SW contract has had since at least 2009 and benefits as low as 27% employee cost share for at least 79% of our employees. The other 21% are eligible for plans in which the cost share is 29% which is the same it has been since 2017. These two huge things plus adding a lot of new and improved language to the CBA and not having any takeaways are the reasons your elected bargaining team unanimously voted in support of ratification.
