Verizon Southwest Bargaining Report #77
During the course of this week the Union and the Company met on several occasions. There were a number of proposals passed between the parties. The Company presented a side by side comparison of the Company and Union’s position on healthcare. This comparison illustrated how far apart the parties are. The Union passed a complete package to the Company that included Premium Pay, Vacation, Scheduling, Board and Lodging, Sickness and Disability, Benefits, Group Health Insurance, Issues on Buried Service Wire and Wages. The package was explained in great detail to the Company by the Union. The final business conducted for the week was a modified settlement presented to the Company by the Union concerning Buried Service Wire. The Union and the Company remain far apart on all of the major issues. The parties will continue to bargain in an attempt to reach an agreement. The Union and Company will break for Christmas week and reconvene on January 2, 2013.
