Consolidated (Lufkin/Conroe) Bargaining Report #1
The joint CWA and Consolidated Bargaining Committees opened bargaining on Wednesday, September 21, 2016. The Company opened with a brief statement and presented (8) proposals concerning changes to job titles, job postings and testing, and standardization of benefits. The Union gave a brief opening statement on the priorities of our members and presented proposals on a significant wage increase, standardization of language in the contract that Consolidated has agreed to in other bargaining units (improvements), improvements to the Pension and 401(k) plans and job security. Bargaining continued Thursday with each side offering explanations and answering questions on proposal items. More information is needed on the benefit plan items and there are still outstanding information requests on contractors. It was mutually agreed to recess and reconvene on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 9:00 AM. Information will be posted as updates are available.
