Verizon Southwest Bargaining Report #21

Brothers and Sisters, we are four days away from contract expiration. We must stress, as we had said from the beginning, we will not put out specifics on any proposals from the Union or the Company.

As stated before, things change daily during bargaining. We do not want to mislead the members in any way. Furthermore, as we all should know, rumors are rampant and should be taken with a grain of salt. Rest assured that we were elected by the members to serve on this committee to bring home the best contract possible. 

We met with the Company this afternoon to try to close the distance between the Union and the Company. The Union rejected three Company proposals (Company proposals 8, 9, 10). The Union also countered two proposals. The Company countered Union proposals #24 and #25. The Company also stated that they have put 16 jobs on the board, 13CZT 2’S and 3 Cable Splicer’s. Remember to wear RED on Thursdays and Black on Fridays.
