AT&T SW TA Featured Highlights - WAGES
As we enter the last week of voting, we want to feature a different section of the contract each day. We feel our members should be as informed as possible when making a decision that will ultimately affect the next four years of their career and by default, their lives!
As we have said, the bargaining process is a give and take and your bargaining team went to battle on your behalf to secure as many enhancements to your current contract as possible WITHOUT giving anything back!
Today’s Focus is WAGES!
In our last extension, the general wage increase was only 10.75%, and the contract prior to that included just 10.75%. This Tentative Agreement far outpaces both of those increases. In fact, we’ve never secured a 5% general wage increase in the first year – at least not in the last 20 years!
- 5% pay increase to base wages for all Titles on May 11, 2025
- 3.25% pay increase to base wages for all Titles on May 10, 2026
- 3% pay increase to base wages for all Titles on May 9, 2027
- 3.25% pay increase to base wages for all Titles on May 7, 2028
- Compounded 15.29% Wage Increase over duration of CBA
- $1000 ratification bonus (subject to ratification) paid within 30 days of ratification
- Eliminated wage steps 1-4 for Premise Techs & Group 1 Craft. This guarantees no employee is hired at less than $15 per hour
One of the questions we were asked is why are we “only getting a 14% increase over the contract when SE got 22%”?
ANSWER: The AT&T SE contract was a 5 year contract in which they received 18%over 5 years versus our 4 year agreement. When you average the total percentage over the total number of years, the SW contract averages ever so slightly MORE per year! Additionally, Appendix J employees will receive an additional 3% in year 1 making their year 1 rate increase 8%.
And let’s not forget the $1000 ratification bonus paid within
30 days if this contract ratifies with the first round of voting!
